A Variety of Opportunities

Our hard working volunteers can be found in almost every area of the hospital, from the volunteer-run Auxiliary Gift Shop and fundraising events, to first-hand interaction with patients or behind the scenes administrative duties. Volunteers have options in a variety of areas, including but not limited to:

Applications are available at the hospital's main information desk in the front lobby or in our Volunteer Services office on the 1st floor. Applications may also be conveniently downloaded using the link provided below. Prospective volunteers are always welcomed to stop in at the Volunteer Services office to learn more about our programs. Application packages may also be submitted to our office via mail.

After submitting an application, an interview time will be set up. After that, new volunteers will attend an orientation session before starting training for their assigned service area.

JUNIOR VOLUNTEER PROGRAM

UF Health St. JohnsVolunteer Services will host the Junior Volunteer Program from June 19 until July 21, 2023. High school students between the ages of 15-18 are eligible to participate. Students will rotate on a weekly basis through several hospital departments for an introduction to hospital routines. At the completion of the program, students will receive a certificate documenting their volunteer service hours. To participate, students must:

  • Complete the application
  • Provide documentation for both the COVID vaccinations and the 2022-2023 season flu shot
  • Have a TB test conducted at no charge by UF Health St. JohnsEmployee Health
  • Participate in an in-person interview conducted by UF Health St. JohnsVolunteer Services

When applications are received, the student will be contacted to schedule an interview. During the interview, TB test information will be provided.
